Latest Labor Union to Throw Support behind Schneider

NORTHBROOK, IL–Today, Democrat Brad Schneider announced the support of UNITE HERE Local 1.

“I’m honored to have the support of UNITE HERE Local 1,” said Schneider. “Hospitality workers are the backbone of Illinois’s tourism industry and I will always advocate for working men and women in Congress. We must work to increase the minimum wage and expand our middle class, these are critical issues I will always be out front on.”

“UNITE HERE Local 1 is proud to endorse Brad Schneider,” said Local 1 President Karen Kent. “We are looking forward to collaborating with Brad on continuing to raise standards for Chicago area hospitality workers.”

The endorsement from UNITE HERE Local 1 comes on the heels of a poll showing Schneider with a commanding lead ahead of his primary opponent, adding to his growing momentum going into the final stretch of the primary. His leadership has also been recognized by endorsements from the Daily Herald, Secretary of State Jesse White, Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Sierra Club, and the unanimous support of the Illinois AFL-CIO.
