Today’s vote raises major concerns among local law enforcement groups

Deerfield, IL – Today, the House voted on H.R. 2578.

“I am deeply disappointed in Bob Dold’s vote today on a bill which local law enforcement groups have said would make it easier to move machine guns around the country,” said Brad Schneider.  “Yesterday was the anniversary of Hidiya Pendleton’s tragic death and a poignant reminder that there are still far too many innocent lives lost each day to gun violence.  Bob Dold and the Republicans in Congress are failing to ensure the safety of Americans

During his time in Congress, Schneider was a tireless advocate for gun safety measures, voting to increase funding for the National Criminal Background Check System by $19.5 million, while also cosponsoring the Gun Trafficking Prevention Act and the Second Amendment Rights Protection Act.
