New survey shows Schneider leading Dold 46-41

NORTHBROOK, IL— Democrat Brad Schneider remains well-positioned to unseat Republican Congressman Bob Dold this November.

A new live poll of 399 voters shows Schneider with a 46%-41% lead. A full polling memo is available here.

“These results show voters are eager for a change from Bob Dold and the extreme obstructionist agenda of the Republican Congress,” said Schneider for Congress campaign manager Magen Ryan. “Voters understand that rather than voting with special interests, Brad has consistently fought to expand access to affordable healthcare, promote equality, and defend Medicare and Social Security.”

Jill Normington of Normington, Petts & Associates, which conducted the survey, cited Dold’s objectively low 34%-29% favorable rating, Donald Trump’s universal unpopularity in the district and Barack Obama’s increasing approval numbers as favorable factors for Schneider.

“Even after weeks of attacks from Dold and Republican special interests, Democrat Brad Schneider remains in a strong position to take advantage of the weakness of Republican Congressman Dold and the favorable nature of the 10th District and win back this seat,” said Normington.

The survey was conducted among 399 likely voters in the 10th Congressional District of Illinois.  Respondents were reached on both landlines and mobile phones. Interviews were conducted September 28-29, 2016.  The sampling error for this survey is ±4.9%.
