Illinois AFL-CIO Endorses Rep. Schneider
Union Unanimously Supports Schneider
NORTHBROOK, IL–Today Democrat Brad Schneider announced earning the unanimous endorsement of the Illinois Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations.
“I’m greatly honored to have the endorsement of the Illinois AFL-CIO,” Schneider said. “I know what working families are up against and have been a long time advocate for working men and women, for creating, well-paying jobs, and for a fair minimum wage. I will never stop fighting to protect the right to organize and to bargain collectively.”
“The nearly 900,000 members of the Illinois AFL-CIO are proud to give Brad Schneider our endorsement,” AFL-CIO President Michael Carrigan said. “In Congress Brad stood up for the rights of working men and women and introduced legislation to put Americans back to work. It is more critical than ever that we have leaders like him representing us.”
The AFL-CIO is an association of nearly 900,000 members composed of 1,500 local affiliates throughout Illinois.
Brad’s leadership has also been recognized and earned the early endorsements of several other labor union locals, including Amalgamated Transit Union International, SEIU Illinois State Council, UAW Region 4, Illinois State Association of Letter Carriers, Pipefitters, Sheet Metal Workers, Lake Country Federation of Teachers, IBEW and others.
