Meet Brad

Brad is an Independent Problem Solver.

Brad Schneider proudly represents the 10th District of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives and is running for re-election in 2026 to continue his work on behalf of the communities he serves. A strong, independent voice for his District, Brad has been ranked among the most bipartisan members of the House.

In Congress and at home, Brad is focused on the economic well-being of hard-working families, young people just starting out, seniors hoping to enjoy their golden years with health and dignity, and everyone else striving to not just make ends meet, but to get ahead.  Brad is breaking through partisan gridlock to find solutions, and promoting core American values of opportunity, equality, and security. He is fighting to combat rising costs for everyday necessities, and protect the Affordable Care Act, Social Security and Medicare, a woman’s right to choose, a healthy, sustainable environment and full equality for the LGBTQ+ community.

Brad is currently Chair of the New Democrat Coalition - 116 centrist democrats who are recognized in Congress as the “get-it-done majority makers.” As Chair of the New Dems, Brad is working night and day to build the energy for a blue wave to flip the House.

As a senior member of the influential Ways and Means Committee, Brad is working to improve our healthcare system and protect Medicare and Social Security. He has led the charge repealing the restriction of the state and local tax deduction which raised taxes on many middle-class families in the Tenth District. On the Foreign Affairs Committee, Brad is focused on preserving the United States’ influence and leadership with our allies, addressing challenges with our adversaries, and helping set international policies in global forums.

Before serving in Congress, Brad’s career in business spanned nearly three decades, helping family-owned businesses plan for and realize strategic growth. Brad also owned and managed a life insurance agency from 1997-2003. He earned both a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration  from Northwestern.

Brad and his wife, Julie, have lived in the Tenth District for more than 35 years, where they have created a home, built their careers and, most importantly, raised their two sons, Adam and Daniel.

"I am running for Congress in the 10th Congressional District of Illinois because I am committed to bringing people together throughout our communities and across the aisle to make sure our children inherit a stronger and more secure future."
