GIFFORDS Endorses Rep. Brad Schneider for Reelection

NORTHBROOK, IL – Rep. Brad Schneider (IL-10) announced the endorsement of GIFFORDS in his campaign for reelection to Congress. 

“In Illinois, gun violence has stolen the lives of too many parents, children, and friends. We need strong leaders who believe in commonsense gun laws and are ready to address this crisis. For these reasons, I’m proud to endorse Congressman Brad Schneider for reelection, because I know he will fight for public safety while working to create an Illinois that’s free from the devastation of gun violence,” said former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords.

“Congressman Schneider is committed to taking on the gun lobby and their donors. He will keep working hard for Illinois by fighting to pass the laws we know have been proven to work while building on the progress we’ve made so far. I urge Illinoisans to head to the polls this November and send Congressman Schneider back to Washington,” Giffords continued.

The fight to end gun violence is not abstract in Illinois’ 10th District. In Highland Park, families, friends, and neighbors are still living with the pain of the July 4, 2022 mass shooting at the city’s Independence Day parade, where seven people were killed and many more were wounded. Schneider has continued to stand with the Highland Park community, honor the victims and survivors, and push for action to prevent more families from experiencing that kind of devastating loss.

Throughout his time in Congress, Schneider has fought for commonsense gun safety measures, including stronger background checks, protections for survivors of domestic violence, efforts to stop illegal gun trafficking, and measures to keep dangerous weapons out of the wrong hands.

GIFFORDS’ endorsement reflects that shared commitment to taking on the gun lobby, protecting communities, and continuing the work to reduce gun violence.

The endorsement underscores the stakes of this election: sending Schneider back to Congress to build on that progress and keep fighting for safer communities in Illinois’ 10th District and across the country.
